Perennial Essence Sneak Peak

Hello Stamping Friends.

Life has been a little challenging on the caregiving front lately. My mother's health has been deteriorating rather quickly, and her Alzheimer's has left her struggling with many of the basic routines in her retirement home. It's hard to know when we'll have to move her to a facility that offers more support, and I have been really struggling to stay positive and bring joy to her when I visit. Fortunately the home is not far away. Is it odd that we are closer now that at any other time that I can recall in our lives? I find myself grieving a little every day.

The increased caregiving responsibilities haven't left much time or inspiration for crafting, but my pre-order arrived today, and that definitely motivated me to create something! My pre-order included the new Floral Essence Bundle (Stamp Set with punch), and I had some fun tonight creating a card using the Stamp Set and the co-ordinating Perennial Essence DSP.

You really need to get your hands on this paper to see how incredible the art work on this DSP really looks. It has texture, and motion, and is so beautiful, that it really does all of the work for the card. I used the Stitched Rectangle Framelits Dies to die cut the DSP, matted it with vellum, then popped this piece up using Stampin' Dimensionals. Next, I used the embossing mats from last year's catalogue with a larger stitched rectangle to emboss a border around the DSP. The sentiment is from the Floral Essence Stamp Set, and I heat embossed it in white. The final touch is the linen ribbon from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack. I see myself using a lot of this in the future!

I kept the inside of the card very simple, with a heat embossed white flower from the Stamp Set in the upper right corner of a vellum rectangle, cut using the largest of the Stitched Rectangle dies. I used a smaller stitched rectangle underneath the vellum layer. Since I wanted to leave room for writing, I only glued the vellum layer under the flower (with Tombow Mono liquid glue). This means I can write on the vellum layer, or on the Whisper White rectangle below.

This was a fun card to create, using both dry embossing and heat embossing. The sentiment could easily be switched to suit any occasion.

As always, card/scrapbooking supplies can be purchased through my store by clicking on the SHOP button at the top of the page. Don't forget to join me on my Craftin' Granny's Facebook Page Thursday night at 7 pm. for a video showing more new Stampin' Up! products. The new products shown today are available for customers beginning on June 4th, 2019. If you'd like a new catalogue to see all of the new products and project samples, just send me a message on the Facebook Page with your snail mail address, and I would be pleased to see that you get one.

Happy Crafting!
