Back On Your Feet Get Well Card

Hi Craftin' Friends.

Today's card was created for a friend who's been feeling under the weather. I immediately thought of the Back On Your Feet Stamp Set. I love the really cute animals, but since this needed to be a masculine card, I paired it with the Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper. The green stripe in this paper reminds me of a pattern that might be on a man's shirt, so it seemed appropriate. Again, in keeping with a masculine theme, I chose Soft Suede for my card base, cut 4 1/4" by 11" and scored at 5 1/2".

The sloth image seemed the best choice for this card, and I added the "Hope you're back on your feet soon" sentiment. Looking at the leaves that were on the branch the sloth is lying on, I thought the Layered Leaves Embossing Folder would co-ordinate well. Because I wanted my stripes to lay flat, I only embossed a part of my 3 7/8" by 5 1/8" Whisper White layer. To do this, I measured the width of my striped paper (1 3/8"), added 1/8", and scored my Whisper White paper just slightly at the top and the bottom to mark where to place the embossing folder. After embossing, my paper looked like this:

There was a slight cracking along the embossed edge, but my striped paper hid that easily enough.

The sloth was stamped on a Whisper White stitched square using Memento ink, then coloured with light and dark Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends. The face and claws were done in Ivory, and the leaves were done with light Mossy Meadow. The branch was coloured with light and dark Soft Suede.

To complete the assembly, I wrapped some Mossy Meadow linen thread around the Whisper White layer three times, then tied a knot (more masculine than a bow!). The stitched square was matted with a Soft Suede square, then popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals. This was a pretty quick card to create, and the image was really fun and easy to colour with Stampin' Blends.

I recommend the Back on Your Feet Stamp Set for all my animal loving stamping friends. All of the supplies listed in today's project are available in my web store by clicking on the Shop Now link above.

Happy Stamping, Friends!
