Honeybee Home Bundle

 Hello Craftin' Friends!

One of my favourite In Colours from 2020-2022 is Cinnamon Cider. Today's cards feature the DSP from the Heart & Home Pack in that colour. It happened to have bees on it, and that's how I chose the product bundle to share with you today.

The Honeybee Home Bundle is truly lovely with several wildflower images and adorable little bee images to stamp. There are also four sentiments to help personalize your cards.

My first card is suitable for anyone you'd like to cheer up by sending a hug with a fold in the middle (also known as a card!). I was inspired by a card from theresas-treasures.com when creating this card. To colour the flowers I used Cinnamon Cider and Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends. The sentiment is heat embossed in white. For a video tutorial of this card, please see the replay of  my Facebook LIVE.

Measurements:

  • Basic Gray 7 1/4" by 5 1/2", scored at 3"; 2 1/8" by 3 1/2"; 5/8" strip for sentiment
  • Cinnamon Cider 2" by 3 3/8"
  • Basic White 2 7/8" by 5 3/8" (cut 2); 1 1/2" by 5 3/8"; 2 1/2" by 5 3/8"; scrap to stamp and cut bee; stitched rectangle approximately1 3/4" by 3 1/8"
  • DSP 2 3/4" by 5 1/4" (cut 2); 1 3/8" by 5 1/4" with the wood texture side up
  • Linen thread 18"
My second card using these products is a card for that person you've been missing lately. I think we all have them as a result of the pandemic. This card was inspired by karinastamps.com. For this card I used a different pattern of the wood textured dsp from the same Heart & Home DSP Pack. I also added some additional flowers coloured in Cinnamon Cider and Smoky Slate, and a flower die cut. The sentiment is stamped in Basic Gray. I put this card base together in 2 pieces, by gluing a 1/2" tab from the accordian piece to the card back.

Measurements:
  • Cinnamon Cider 4 1/4" by 5 1/2" for card back; 8 1/2" by 5 1/2", scored at 2", 4", 6" and 8"; 3" by 6 1/4", scored at 3 1/8"
  • Basic White 4" by 5 1/4"; 2 3/4" by 2 15/16" (cut 2); scraps for bees
  • DSP in Cinnamon Cider 1 13/16" by 5 1/4"; 1 7/8" by 5 1/4"
  • DSP in thin Basic Gray wood pattern 1 13/16" by 5 1/4"; 1 7/8" by 5 1/4"
  • Linen Thread 8"
In assembling the accordian fold card, I used the narrower piece of Cinnamon DSP first, then the wider wood DSP, followed by the larger Cinnamon DSP, then the narrower wood DSP. This results in a 1/8" piece between the DSP when you take the 1/16th from each side. I hope the photo will help make this clear, but if this is too complicated for you, just cut all of the DSP to 1 3/4" by 5 1/4".

Thanks for visiting today. Please leave a comment to say hello! All products used in these cards are available in my online store. Please use Host Code BZAXQZEZ for orders less than $200.
