Hi there, Craftin' Friends!
Today's cards were so much fun to make and really very easy. I hope you'll take a look at my Facebook LIVE video where I demonstrate the bubble technique. Thanks Margaret Stares from The Studio Stampers who shared this fun technique with us on our recent Demo Discovery Day.
Here's the card I created on the video using a Bermuda Bay Classic Ink Refill, Ivory dish soap, and water. Note: you don't have to use watercolour paper for this technique, but it does give better definition of the bubbles when you do. Although this technique is easy and the card is not difficult to make, I would classify this as a card for an AVID crafter because I've used heat embossing for the title, dry embossing for the background, die cutting for the foreground, as well as the use of the bubble technique to create my own Designer Series Paper.
A simple stamp inside the card from the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set completes the card.
For the second card, I used a Granny Apple Green Classic Ink Refill, as well as the Bermuda Bay colour used previously, mixed to make bubbles as shown in the video. The card used the Paradise Palms Stamp Set and the Palm Dies, plus the Faux Sea Glass Shapes. The sun was made using Crushed Curry to make the bubbles.
I added some palm trees inside the card, but didn't add another sentiment as I wanted to leave the purpose of this card open. I could add a birthday sentiment, or just add a written note. The black rectangle is from the Stitched Rectangle Dies. I heat embossed the sentiment in white. The palm trees were stamped multiple times in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, however, next time I think I would use Black heat embossing to make them stand out more.
I just love the strips on the final card. I used Foam Adhesive Strips behind the 1/2" watercolour strips to add dimension. The watercolour background for this card used some Crushed Curry bubbles, as well as Bermuda Bay and Granny Apple Green. I used the Colour and Contour Stamp Setfor the flowers. The sentiment is from the Sending Smiles Stamp Set. The Butterfly and label dies are from the Meadow Dies, and the circle is from the Layering Circle Dies.
More flowers inside the card keep the floral theme going.
The bubble technique is so much fun! I hope you'll give it a try. The supplies to make these cards are available in my
web store. If placing an order of less than $200, please use Host Code 42DVUZQS.
Happy Crafting!
