Hello Craftin' Friends!
On my Facebook LIVE this week, I created two Christmas cards using the A Walk in the Forest DSP. I love this DSP because it has a combination of traditional Christmas colours, and some blue toned DSP which will work later for winter themed cards. Another reason to love this DSP, is that Stampin' Up! will donate $4 from each purchase to the Salvation Army to help families in need. I used the patterned pages of designer series paper that co-ordinated with the Merriest Trees Dies and the bear punch from the Beary Cute Bundle.
For the first card I used the fourth largest Deckled Circle Die to ground my focal point. The background was created with the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder. The trees and bear were from the DSP, and the sentiment was from the Beary Cute Stamp Set. Note that the garden green tree was cut from the edge of the DSP page, so I didn't even need to cut off the edge!
Inside I added a favourite sentiment from the Brightest Glow Stamp Set.
The focal point of the second card was created using the tag dies from the Merriest Trees Bundle. I love the little tab at the top of the tag. I added some Cherry Cobbler twine that was retired, but it would be simple enough to use a Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blend to colour white or vanilla twine from our current Baker's Twine Essentials Pack.
The background above was cut from DSP, and the sentiment was added from the Merriest Trees Stamp Set. I die cut a little gold star with a Merriest Trees die from our gold foil sheets.
Inside the card I added a tree cut from the DSP, again using the tree from the edge of the DSP which was already cut off. The sentiment is from the Merriest Trees Stamp Set.
Using the DSP for the trees and the bear in these cards made them quick and easy to assemble. At this time, the Merriest Trees Bundle is available in the online store, but the Beary Cute Bundle is not available until the week of November 9th. Due to the challenges with keeping items in stock, I would recommend if you want these products, don't delay. Order now what is available, and purchase the Beary Cute Bundle later.
If you liked these cards, please leave me a comment below and subscribe to receive notification of future blog posts! You're also invited to join me next Tuesday at 7:30pm for my next Facebook LIVE.
Happy Crafting!
