Simple Stamping With In Colors!

Hello Crafters!

Do you ever have those days when nothing goes as planned. This was one of those days for me! I had planned to share a Kinder Egg Treat Holder with you today, but when I started writing instructions, even though I tried very hard to be clear and specific, I felt it just wasn't going to work. So if you're interested in a Kinder Egg Treat Box, check out my Facebook Live on Thursday night at Craftin' Granny's.

So today, I'm going to share some quick and easy cards using the 2017-2019 In Color Ink Pads and some cardstock. Several different stamp sets are used, to show you how many sets can be used to create simple, effective cards.

The first card uses a Host Stamp Set that I love, Pressed Flowers, with the image repeated in Fresh Fig, Powder Pink, and Berry Burst. You can only purchase the Host sets with an order that earns Stampin' Rewards. For this card I also added sentiments stamped in Fresh Fig from the Love What You Do Stamp Set, as the Pressed Flower Set doesn't have sentiments.

The second card uses the same ink colors, but used the Little Elephant Stamp Set and the Vertical Greetings Stamp Set. To make the card base for this card, I took a piece of cardstock 4 1/4 by 11", scored it at 5 1/2", then cut 1/2" off the end of the front. This allows the greeting to show through from the "inside" of the card. Again, I used the repetition of the same image in different colors to create the card front.

The last card for today uses the Incredible Like You Stamp Set and combines Lemon Lime Twist and Fresh Fig Ink. I stamped lines on the Lemon Lime card base using the same color ink for a tone on tone effect. To make sure they fit nicely, I stamped the top and bottom, then the middle, then once more in between each set. This helped me space the lines somewhat evenly. Then I stamped the flowers and leaves using 2 step stamping. To achieve the lighter tones I stamped off once. The sentiment is in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. For inside this card I stamped the same lines on Whisper White Cardstock, and stamped my sentiment in Memento ink again.

Hope you like my #simplestamping cards! It was fun designing some cards that relied less on supplies and more on the use of the stamps. Why not give it a go and share your results with us over on my Craftin' Granny's Facebook Page? I'd love to see your creations.

If you like these ink colors, please be aware that they will be retiring as of May 31st, 2019. They've been with us for 2 years, and on June 1st we'll have 5 new colours. I know I will really miss the Lemon Lime Twist! If you would like to purchase any of the current In Color ink pads or re-inkers, just click on the link to shop at my store.

Happy Stamping Friends!

  1. Very pretty cards. Did you use the Stamparatus for the repeated stamping? I will be sad to see some of these colours retire in a few short months..... especially Tranquil Tide and Fresh Fig!

    1. Hi Louise. I didn't use the Stamparatus. It worked pretty easily just to eyeball the spacing by using the grid paper and the ruler along the bottom. I agree about the colours. Tranquil Tide has been a favourite of mine too!
