Do you have a "happy place" from your childhood? For me, I think it would be the Brantford Public Library. I spent many hours in the library as a child, and I was always happy to be going home with a stack of new books. Perhaps I was influenced by my grandfather, who also liked to read and was often seen with a library book open on his lap.
Over the Easter Weekend, I had the privilege of taking my granddaughter to the same library I loved as a child. There are toys there now, as well as computers, a 3D printer, and many other resources that weren't there when I was a child. But it's still a wonderful place to spend some time! A rather funny aside - no librarians said, "Sh" to anyone while I was there. However, a number of adults, including myself, could not resist telling the children to "Sh". I think the times have changed, but old folks like myself find it hard to keep up.
Given my warm feelings toward the library, when I was looking for a place to hold card classes, my local library seemed like a logical choice. The library was the first place I held a card class, and I feel great joy when sharing my love of paper crafting with the people I meet there.
Today, I'm going to share a Sneak Preview of the card I will be teaching at the Brantford Public Library on May 11th at 2 pm. Registration for the event is free, but you do need to register here, to avoid disappointment if the class is full. (Yes, it has happened.) Here's your chance to give stamping a try in a relaxed, no stress class.
This card is geared towards a special woman in your life. Sentiments from the Strong and Beautiful Stamp Set will be available to personalize the inside of the card.
Love, love, love the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper combined with the Lace Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I've used the "You" from the Celebrate You Thinlits, and the "are amazing!" from the Amazing Life Stamp Set (shown in the Stitched Rectangle). Twine and gems will also be available for those who like a "fancier" card. Get a look at this extra special touch of embossing on the envelope!
Crafters, I would very much appreciate your help in sharing this blog post and/or my Thursday night Facebook Live videos. Starting a new business is a big venture, and I'm slowly, but surely, connecting to the wonderful world of crafters out there. You can help by sharing my posts with the people you know, and perhaps I will be able to meet some new crafting friends. Thanks so much if you can help me out that way.
For those of you who may wish to make Stampin' Up craft purchases, this is the current Host Code: JFBWQGC6. Just click on the Shop link at the top of the page. Thanks so much for supporting my business.
I hope you've enjoyed a peek at the card for this upcoming class. If you can't make the class on May 11th, I will be returning to the library to teach how to make a masculine card on June 15th at 2 pm. Hope to see you there!
Happy Crafting Friends!
