So, my anniversary is coming up. On September 1 Mr. P. and I will have had 35 years of wedded bliss. Okay, not all bliss, but 35 years of loving, supporting, and usually pulling in the same direction. Yes, we were kids when we married, LOL!
Now, I've created an anniversary card, but after creating it, I'm wondering if it's just too feminine for me to give to my hubby.
I was inspired by Debbie Henderson's Fancy Fold Card in one of her Facebook Live videos. I loved the layers of DSP on the front. I added some texture using the Subtles 3D Embossing Folder to the background. For my card, I added a sentiment/quote from the Enjoy Life Stamp Set. It seemed like a good reminder of all that my husband and I have to be thankful for.
I designed my card so that the ribbon went under the very top layer, to ensure that it didn't interfere with the Daisy on the card front. Here's a close up of the Daisy. I fussy cut the flower image, and stamped the stem behind it.
The "front" of the card unfolds like an accordion, but it will stand upright when the card is tied closed. See the image below of the card unfolded, and the first image above of the card when tied closed.
The thing about fancy fold cards, is sometimes it's hard to know where to write a personal message. That's why I adhered the whole accordion fold to a standard card base.
Inside the card I added a stamped daisy, but left lots of room for a personal message.
So what do you think, friends? Is this card too feminine for Mr. P.? Should I have stuck with trees or boats instead? Please leave me a comment below to let me know what you think.
If you love the Designer Series Paper used on this card, it' from the Annual Catalogue, and is the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper. It's really stunningly beautiful in person. The stamp set is Daisy Lane, and it co-ordinates with the Daisy Punches I used to create the floral bouquet for my Mom showed in a previous post. Of course, these items, and lots more are available in my store. Just click the SHOP NOW button at the top of my blog page, or visit http://craftingranny.stampinup.net.
Thanks for stopping by today. Hope to see you again soon.
Happy Stamping!
