Hi Craftin' Friends.
Do you love nautical themed home decor? My family's vacations for many years were to Quincy Massachusetts, where my sister lived and worked. We loved our visits there - whale watching, trips to the beach, walks on the boardwalk, one memorable visit sailing in the Boston Harbor. I just love to be near the water, and I'm a sucker for beach themed home decor. Give me some seashells or sand dollars, some blue/white striped pillows, some seashore themed pictures, and I'm in love.
So I'm really in love with today's project. During a recent shopping trip, I found a natural wood frame that opened to allow you to insert your own artwork or photos. I immediately pictured a home decor piece with the Come Sail Away DSP. And it's beautiful!
This piece was so much fun to create. I had to incorporate one of my favourite sentiments from the Enjoy Life Stamp Set, because when I'm on the beach, I am very thankful to be alive.
The lighthouse section of the frame used High Tide, with a sentiment from Lilypad Lake.
The center section of the frame used Lilypad Lake Stamps and Dies to create the sailboats, and Seaside Notions to stamp and fussy cut the shells.
Finally, the seahorse is from the Seaside Notions and the gulls are from High Tide.
If you would like complete instructions and measurements to make this Home Decor piece, you need to place an on-line order of $45 or more during the month of August using the host code 7BNBQGPA. Provided you allow me to have your e-mail address to contact you, I will be pleased to send you the instructions for the project.
If you live locally, you have the option to purchase this project as a class. For $45 you will receive the Come Sail Away DSP, 24 sheets of co-ordinating cardstock, 5 yards of linen thread, 5 yards of the Sahara Sand/Night of Navy twine, as well as instructions to complete the project which may be completed at the September 15 DIY Card/Scrapbooking Event. To purchase as a class, you must register and pre-pay by August 31st. Please note that you must provide your own frame for the decor piece. My frame is 11" by 11", but a 12" by 12" frame would work just as well.
