Today I wanted to take the time to share my alternate projects for the Paper Pumpkin Sharing Sunshine Kit for June. This kit was so lovely and bright that I loved the cards just as they were designed. But half the fun is playing with the pieces to make something new! So I had to design some alternate cards using the materials from the kit and some extra cardstock.
The first card was stamped on a Whisper White Thick Cardstock base. First I attached the polka dot strip, then I stamped the "lines" image 3 times, alternating left, right, left on the card front without reinking. The Hello sentiment was stamped on the right side of a sentiment strip, then tucked under a pineapple image which I popped up on dimensionals. The addition of a few sequins finished this simple but beautiful card. You can't help but make something beautiful with the gold features on these die cuts!
The second card also used a Whisper White Thick Cardstock base. For this card I used one of the larger polka dot stickers positioned slightly to the left of the card. I glued adhered the lemons with dimensionals, and attached the leaves with glue dots to the lemons (also popped up with dimensionals). The Hello sentiment was added in a line with the bottom of the polka dot sticker, then some sequins finished the card off. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!
Card three used one half of one card front, from which I cut 3 panels 1 3/8" by 2 3/4". These were mounted on a piece of black cardstock 3 by 4 5/8". I cut a small polka dot sticker to 3/8" wide, and stuck it over the 3 panels. The smile sentiment was stamped on a hexagonal sentiment die cut and popped up over the polka dot strip. More sequins to finish. See a recorded Facebook tutorial here for these three cards.
Card four used a Poppy Parade Card Base cut 4 1/4" by 11", scored at 5 1/2". For this card, I cut apart several card bases, then used the pieces for different cards. I cut 1 inch off the right side of the gold striped card base. Set aside the larger piece, then cut a 1" square for this card from your 1" strip. Next I Cut a 1" strip off of the gold starburst card. From this piece I cut 2 two inch lengths. Now I cut a 1 inch strip from the reddish end of a third card front. Two 1" strips and one 2" piece were cut from this strip. I positioned all of my pieced 1" square and 1" by 2" as shown popped up on a piece of black cardstock 3 1/2" square. A sun die cut was popped up on top of this piece. The whole piece was glued to the Poppy Parade Card front with the top and 2 sides about equidistant. I used a polka dot strip and a sentiments strip saying You Are Loved to complete the card.
Card 5 is a Z fold card with a Basic Black Card base cut 4 1/4" by 11", scored at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2". I cut a piece of Whisper White Cardstock 4 1/8" by 5 3/8" for inside the card. On the outer folded back piece of the card front, I glued a piece of Whisper White Cardstock 2 5/8" by 4 1/2". Then I cut a large polka dot sticker to 2 1/2" by 4" and stuck it on top of the folded back panel.
To create my focal piece for the card front, I cut the larger piece of gold striped card front to create a piece 2 3/8" by 3 1/4" with the stripes going horizontally. I glued this onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock 2 1/2" by 3 3/8", then adhered that onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock 2 5/8" by 3 1/2". The sentiment strips were stamped using the You Are and the Sunshine from the kit on paper strips 1/2" and 3/4" widths respectively. The MY was hand written on a piece of Whisper White Cardstock 3/8" wide and cut to fit length. I glued one side of the gold striped panel to the folded back portion of the card front. DO NOT GLUE THE ENTIRE THING DOWN! You want the card to open to form a Z shape. Now, I popped the sun up on dimensionals in the left upper corner. Finally I matted my sentiments by cutting Basic Black Cardstock strips 1/8" wider then the Whisper White strips. I cut the lengths to fit the sentiments, then arranged to fit on the card front. See a Facebook tutorial here for these 2 cards.
