Tasteful Touches Cards

Hello Crafting Friends!

This week I decided to pull out a stamp set I love from the Annual Catalogue. I must admit it was a challenge for my brain to shift gears from Christmas cards, but I have an overabundance of holiday cards right now, so it seemed time to try something else.

The first card I'm sharing today is a quick and easy card you could send to a friend that just adds joy to your life. I did create a mask for the flower image on a "sticky all over" post it note. When I take the time to do this, I save the sticky notes and reuse them, so it's totally worth the cutting time. The flower in this card was stamped with Roccoco Rose on a piece of Whisper White cardstock 3 3/4" by 5". Then I masked the flower with my sticky note and stamped the leaves in Pear Pizzazz. With the mask still in place I stamped the background image twice in Gray Granite.  I wrapped some of the Shimmer Ribbon around the bottom of the card, die cut an label from the Tasteful Lables Dies, and stamped my sentiment on the label. The sentiment was popped up with dimensionals, then the card front was matted onto a piece of  the In Good Taste DSP in gray tones (almost said Shades of Grey, LOL!) 3 7/8" by 5 1/8". The card front was adhered to a Whisper White Thick Card Base. For a final touch I added some Elegant Faceted Gems.

For my second quick and easy card, I used the same mask of the flower I created for the first card. For this card, I stamped the flower image in Misty Moonlight onto a Whisper White square (largest one from the Stitched Shapes Dies). If you don't have these dies, just cut out a square 2 5/8". Next I postitioned my square on top of a piece of Whisper White cardstock 3 3/4" by 5" so that the top and sides were pretty well centered, then I stamped the leaves in Just Jade, overlapping the edge of the square. With Basic Gray ink, I stamped the background image in the upper left corner of the white cardstock, then again so that it would peek out from behind the lower right corner of the square(I moved the square while stamping). While I had the Basic Gray ink out, I stamped my sentiment (from the Framed For You Stamp Set) onto the lower right corner of the stitched square. Then I  embossed the white cardstock (not the square) with the Subtles embossing folder. After matting the white square with a 2 3/4" piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock, I adhered it to the embossed white cardstock with dimensionals. I added some Misty Moonlight Ribbon around the bottom of the white cardstock, then matted the card front onto a piece of Just Jade cardstock 3 7/8" by 5 1/8". This piece was then added to my Misty Moonlight Card Base, Inside the card, I added "My thoughts are with you," from the Prized Peony Stamp Set.

In my Thursday Facebook Live, I demonstrated how to do a stepped up sympathy card. For this card I added a frame with the Stitched Rectangles and a sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings.

Inside this card I stamped the flower image and "So sorry for your loss" from the Prized Peony Stamp Set.

I also created another version of the stepped up card using Roccoco Rose. I think the Roccoco Rose had me thinking wedding because my bridal attendants wore this colour when I married 36 years ago. For this card I used the Best Wishes stamp from the Queen Anne's Lace Stamp Set.

Inside the card I added "Wishing you a long life together filled with love and promise" from the Forever and Always Stamp Set.

I hope you enjoyed the cards today. The supplies used to create the cards today are available in my online store.
