Triple Cube Cards for the Holidays

 Hello there, Craftin' Friends!

I've been busy playing in the craft room with the Triple Cube Card Fun Fold. They are so fun to make and really make a great keepsake. First, let me say thank you to France Martin (Frenchie Stamps) for her YouTube video tutorial of this type of card.

Now, I started by using the Feels Like Frost Designer Series Paper and the Peaceful Nativity Stamp Bundle. I also used a die from the Tasteful Labels Dies for the sentiment.

I promised on my Facebook Live tutorial that I would list colours used here, so, the card base is done in Purple Posy, with some of the DSP matted in Gray Granite. The nativity was coloured with Stampin' Blends. Joseph's hair is Soft Suede Dark and his staff is Crumb Cake Dark. His cloak is Purple Posy Dark with Gray Granite Light layered on top. The mange is Crumb Cake Dark and the straw is Crumb Cake Light with So Saffron Light layered on top. Mary's hair is Soft Suede Light and her robe is Purple Posy Light with Crumb Cake Light layered on top. The donkey's hooves were done with Basic Black Light. The rest of the donkey and the sheep were coloured with Gray Granite Light and Dark.

This is the card created during my Live tutorial.

For this card I again used Purple Posy for the card base with some DSP matted in Early Espresso. Joseph's hair and staff, plus the manger, were coloured Soft Suede Dark. His cloak was coloured in Misty Moonlight Light with Purple Posy layered on top. The straw was coloured Soft Suede Light. Mary's hair was coloured Soft Suede Light. Her robe was coloured Highland Heather Light with Crumb Cake Light layered on top. All skin was coloured Bronze. Again, the donkey's hooves were done in Basic Black Light. Thre rest of the donkey and the sheep were coloured Smoky Slate Light and Dark.

Now, as I was making my nativity cards, I thought, what about a Christmas tree on top. So this third card used the tree from the In the Woods Dies and the star from the Nativity Dies. I thought the tree needed some gifts around it, so I used the stamp from the Merry Moose Stamp Set. This is a stamp set I have loved, and it is retiring in January, so I was glad to ink it up again. The sentiment is also from the same stamp set, and I punched it out with the Tailored Tag Punch.

You may notice for the third card that I didn't add DSP inside the cube and I didn't mat the DSP on the outside of the cubes. I really thought this card worked without it. It was also a lot faster to make! The strips to make the cubes are 2" wide, so I cut the DSP to 1 7/8". For the taller piece at the back (yes, I know it's not really a cube) I cut the DSP at 1 7/8" by 3 7/8". When I matted the DSP, I cut the mats to the previous measurements, and cut the DSP 1/8" smaller. Hope this information is helpful.

If you decide to make a Triple Cube card, I would love to see it. Please post your card on my Craftin' Granny's Stampin' Friends Group. If you've seen the Year End Closeout List (also posted in Craftin' Granny's Stamping Friends), and you're making an order Dec. 8th, please use Host Code YEE9KTBM for orders less than $200. This will earn you customer loyalty credits which you can apply to your next order within 3 months.

Thanks for stopping by today. I wish you lots of happy crafting time!
