Butterfly Brilliance Bundle with Happy Thoughts Sentiments

 Hello Craftin' Friends.

This has been a bit of a tough week for me, for a variety of reasons, but I did get some lovely cards created to share with you, and there are buds on my lilac bush, which make me smile. The cards I'm sharing with you today use the Butterfly Brilliance Bundle, but I did not use the DSP you've probably seen around on social media because it's sold out already and I didn't want to tease you with something you couldn't purchase. I chose 2 colour palettes to use for the cards this week, one bright (Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, and Granny Apple Green) and one neutral (Gray Granite, Crumb Cake, and Soft Suede), because I really wanted you to see the versatility of this bundle.

The first four cards were shared on my Facebook Live video on Thursday evening. I go LIVE every Thursday at 6:30 pm. I'd love for you to join me. For the top two cards, I die cut the butterfly outlines and used the background as a mask with sponging inside the openings. (The small butterflies are from the Butterfly Duet Punch, which I used before I realized that the Butterfly Brilliance Bundle actually has little butterfly dies I could have used.) Don't you just love the Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon with these soft looking cards. It will be retiring soon, as are the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies, so be sure to pick these up soon if they are on your favourites list.

For the next two cards, I used the die cut pieces left over when I created the stencil for the above cards as masks and sponged around them to create the background. After sponging I splattered some water on top to give some added texture. Aren't those detailed butterfly dies beautiful in this bundle!

I wanted to show you one card using the butterfly stamps as a whole, so for the next card I stamped the butterflies in Crumb Cake on a white background. I used one of the dies to add texture to a strip of Crumb Cake which I placed across the card. The detailed butterfly was glue dotted to the Stitched Shape Circle, which I popped up with dimensionals.

This week some of my followers indicated that they like simple fun fold cards, so the final card for today is a Joy Fold card. I repeated a technique from my previous video using the Polka Dot stencil from the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks to create my own DSP. For the front of the card I die cut some bricks and adhered them across the front of the card. Tip: I used the background piece to make sure that the bottom row was straight, then just added a second row above. I added more die cut butterflies and a Stitched Shapes Circle cut to fit in the upper right of the card front.

Inside the card I added a second sentiment.

Thanks for looking at today's cards. I hope you have found some creative inspiration. Be sure to let me know which colour palette you liked the best and perhaps stop by my online store to pick up the supplies to make some cards of your own.
