Hello friends.
Happy Easter to those of you who celebrate, and for those who don't, Happy Weekend! It's a lovely sunny weekend here although the morning was really chilly. I'm feeling sad today as we are beginning another month of lockdown in Ontario, but I try to count my blessings and not let circumstances bring me down. The cards I'm sharing today are sure to bring some good cheer, as they are lovely and bright, showcasing the 2020-2022 In Colours.
The first card was CASED from marelletaylor.com and used the random stamping technique to create my own DSP. I did fussy cut the boots and flowers for this card. See my free video tutorial for more information.
A simple stamp with minimal colouring completes the card inside.
For the double z-fold card below, I did some hinge stamping to create the flower strip for the second "z". The In Colour Enamel Dots really added a lot to finish this card off. Again, see the video tutorial for more details on this card. This card was CASED from Glenda Mollet.
I really love the simplicity of this Magenta Madness card. I did use the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder to add some texture to the background, but the umbrella and boots were stamped right on the In Colour DSP (fussy cut the boots). These simple elements popped up on a stitched rectangle make a simply beautiful card to send to a friend.
Inside the card I first created a mask by stamping the flowers on a post it note, then fussy cutting it out. Next I stamped the flowers on the inside of the card. After covering the flowers with the mask, I stamped the boots to overlap slightly. Several videos on my facebook page demonstrate this technique.
The final card today was inspired by Inkspired Treasures (Connie Babbert). This card also used the masking technique described above to create the flowers on the umbrella. The sentiment piece was created with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.
Inside the card I stamped the sentiment, then added some raindrops by stamping off with Misty Moonlight ink, then colouring the raindrops with Wink of Stella. I loved the way the raindrops went along with the sentiment.
If you loved these cards, I recommend you go to my store and purchase the Under My Umbrella Stamp Set and the Umbrella Builder Punch as soon as possible, because these products are retiring. If you love the polka dot In Colour DSP, you may want to add it to your cart as well. Thanks for taking the time to check out my cards. I would love to have you join me next Thursday evening at 6:30 pm for another free tutorial on my Facebook Page.
