PCCC#420 with Here's To You Paper Pumpkin Kit

 Hi there Craftin' Friends!

I've an extra card to share with you today. I was inspired by the card sketch for the Paper Craft Crew Challenge this week, and decided to write an extra blog post to share it with you. The PCCC (Paper Craft Crew Challenge) is a weekly challenge with lots of fun ideas to inspire you. You can find their site here. This week's sketch was a good one for beginning stampers, as it was pretty easy to work from.

I was working on Paper Pumpkin Alternates when I saw the sketch, and so my card uses the Here's To You Paper Pumpkin Kit. I used some extra Crumb Cake Cardstock for this card, and some additional ink colours, but the rest of the items came from the kit. My Crumb Cake card base was 4 1/4" by 11", scored at 5 1/2". I also cut 6 1 3/8" squares of Crumb Cake cardstock and 1 3/8" strip for the sentiment. I cut one of the Pretty Peacock card bases to have a piece 4 by 5 1/4", and 6 pieces 1 1/2" square. I also cut a 1/2" strrip for matting the sentiment. Using one of the flowered envelope liners, I cut a piece 3 7/8" by 5 1/8" and adhered it to the Pretty Peacock layer, then adhered this to the front of the card base. Next I stamped the floral image from the kit onto the Crumb Cake squares in Seaside Spray, Mango Melody, Calypso Coral, Old Olive, So Saffron, and Pretty Peacock. These were layered onto the Pretty Peacock squares and glued to the card front as shown. I stamped the sentiment in Pretty Peacock on the Crumb Cake strip, trimmed and flagged one end, then glued it to the Pretty Peacock strip and cut the flag end to leave a narrow border. I used glue dots to adhere some linen thread in loops behind the sentiment, then popped this up over the center right square.

Inside the card I stamped more floral images in So Saffron, Seaside Spray, Old Olive, and Calypso Coral. Tip: I chose to cut an extra piece of Crumb Cake 4 by 5 1/4" for inside my card. Line your card up on grid paper to find the center, then stamp the two center images to either side of the card center. Then stamp the other colours to either side. After stamping the sentiment in Pretty Peacock again, I glued this panel inside the card.

Since I was loving the soft look of the colours on the Crumb Cake Cardstock, I decided to carry this over to the envelop flap.

I was really pleased with this alternate card, which just goes to show what a great result you get when you start with a card sketch you love. To see more alternate cards for this month's Paper Pumpkin Kit, please join me Thursday at 6:30 pm EST on my Facebook Page for a video tutorial, and check in here again next Saturday for even more alternate cards.

For those of you who may not have been bitten by the Paper Pumpkin bug yet, I encourage you to give it a try. Next month's kit will include some popsicle shaped cards, and some circle shaped cards. These cards are designed for you to make yourself or with children in your life who love to craft. Don't miss out on this super "cool" kit! You can subscribe to receive a monthly kit here, or order a pre-paid code from my online store. The deadline to subscribe for the So Cool Kit is April 10th, so don't delay.
