Paper Pumpkin Here's To You Alternate Cards

 Hi there Craftin' Friends!

I'm excited to share my alternate cards for this month's Paper Pumpkin Kit with you today. The first card is very simple, but my husband said it was his favourite. What do you think? For this card I cut one of the card front layers to get 3 pieces 1 1/4" by 4". Then I cut a piece of So Saffron Cardstock the same size, and ran it through the leafy Meadow Moments Embossing Folder. All of these pieces were popped up with dimensionals on the front of a Seaside Spray card base. The prepared images from the Paper Pumpkin Kit allow you to add so much detail with no effort. I used the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch for the sentiment, and found a few pearls in my Paper Pumpkin stash to complete the card.

The second alternate card used the free stencils that came with this month's kit. See my video tutorial for ideas on how to use the masks. I was a little intimidated about creating a scene with these, but once I got started, I found it was really fun!

Of course, after die cutting the oval from the card above, I had to create a card that incorporated it into the design. Here's two examples using that piece.

We are real book lovers in my family, so when I saw the envelope liners, some saw candles, but I saw book spines. So here's my alternate with the envelope liner to represent book spines. I used a magnetic closure on this card with super thin magnets purchased on Amazon. I cut one tailored tag down 1/8" on each side to create the seaside spray piece on the card front, then fussy cut some "books" to go inside the card.

For the next card I cut out the sunrise image using my paper trimmer, then added a white layer inside to hide the cut out piece. After cutting out the panel, I matted it on Seaside Spray and White, put a vertical Seaside Spray panel behind it, and finished the card as shown.
The final card is probably this simplest card I made. I die cut several labels from the Tasteful Labels Dies, stamped the floral image in So Saffron, Calypso Coral, and Petal Pink, then popped these pieces up on a piece of Calypso Coral embossed with the Tasteful Textiles Embossing Folder. After adhering this panel to the card front I stamped my sentiment below.

I hope you liked this month's alternate cards. For more creative inspiration please join me on Thursday at 6:30 pm on my Facebook Page for another video tutorial.
