Hello Craftin' Friends!
Today's cards are all about sharing hope. You know, without hope, life becomes very heavy and difficult. Many many people in our world have been struggling with anxiety and losing hope throughout the past year due to the pandemic, In our area we are watching the fourth wave of the pandemic, wondering what it will mean for this Fall. So I have to say that hope is desperately needed. I find hope in my faith. I don't know where you find your hope, but one thing is sure, we all need it.
This month's Paper Pumpkin kit is called Hope Box. It' features bright, bold colours, and even the envelopes are beautiful! I hope you like the alternate cards I've made. Maybe they'll make you smile, or be inspired creatively. Maybe they'll even give you hope for the future.
Card number one is very similar to the cards shown in the kit. I just changed it up some to suit my taste by adding some white twine from a previous Paper Pumpkin Kit, and I couldn't resist heat embossing a white sentiment on black cardstock to really make it pop!
The second card used one of the Melon Mambo card bases. I added some Basic White cardstock (you could flip one of the pieces in the kit over, cut it to size, and stamp on it. I also stamped and fussy cut the larger butterfly to add some depth to the card. The black and white gingham ribbon is from the July to December Mini Catalogue and I just love it!
For my third card, I cut a Bumblebee card base I added some Basic White cardstock which I embossed with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder. I cut one of the Bermuda Bay panels from the kit in half for this card.Inside the card I added another little butterfly die cut to help draw attention to the sentiment. My final card was a lot of fun to make. You may have seen the Bay Window Fun Fold on Pinterest or YouTube. I made mine using one of the Pool Party card bases, although I did have to add some extra Pool Party, Poppy Parade, and Basic White cardstock. The sequins are left over from a previous Paper Pumpkin Kit.
