Season of Chic - Autumn Cards

 Hi there, Craftin' Friends!

I had a request for some Season of Chic cards, and truthfully I've been wanting to play more with the Texture Chic Bundle and co-ordinating Texture Chic DSP and the Distressed Gold Specialty Paper. These items are found on page 99 in the Annual Catalogue. It's a great product suite because the images and DSP work through the seasons, and because of the varied sentiments on the stamp set. On August 10th, I used some of the Designer Seried Paper with the Sunkissed Stamp Set to create a gorgeous Double Slider Card., so in October it just seemed right to have a go at some Autumn cards.

For my Facebook LIVE video, I created an easel card using the DSP with the oak leaves, as well as the Gold Specialty Paper. My inspiration for this card came from elainescreations.net who made a beautiful winter card using this suite. My autumn card uses many of her ideas. I loved the stamped background, but chose to subsitute oak leaves for the snowflake. My leaves were stamped using Mango Melody and Petal Pink, and the sentiment is heat embossed in gold.

Inside the card, I did add some texture with the retired Bark 3D embossing folder, mainly since I had a scrap of paper left over already embossed in my stash! I really think it worked for the card though. I also borrowed a sentiment from the Very Best Occasions Stamp Set as I wanted this to work as a sympathy card. The second sentiment worked perfectly to create the prop for the easel part of the card, while still leaving room to sign the card. Check out the video tutorial for this card here.
Measurements:
  • Soft Succulent 4 1/4 by 11" score at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2", die cut circle (2nd largest) from Stylish Shapes Dies, 3/4" by 4" embossed
  • Evening Evergreen 3 1/4" by 4 1/2", 2 13/16" by 4 1/16", 1 1/4 by 2 1/2"
  • Basic White 4" by 5 1/4", 1" by 2", scraps for stamping 2 leaves
  • Gold Distressed Paper 3" by 4 1/4", die cut leaf
  • DSP with oak leaves 2 3/4 by 4"
  • 14" linen thread
My second card is a birthday card. I love the birthday sentiment with the Season of Chic Stamp Set. This card was inspired by priscillastamps.blogspot.com. I went with my own colour scheme and switched up the season again. The Soft Suede seems to contrast really well with the Petal Pink and Gold to give this card some pizzazz. The embossed Soft Suede square was done using the Timber 3D embossing folder, which is quickly becoming my new favourite!

Inside the card I added some subtle texture by stamping Petal Pink spots in second generation stamping. The sentiment over top is also from the Very Best Occasions Stamp Set.
