How To Make A Shadow Box Card with the Cutest Cows Bundle

 Hello Craftin' Friends!

Today's card uses the Cutest Cows Bundle, which I fell in love with as soon as I saw the January to April Mini Catalogue. I opted to make a birthday card this time, because that's what I use the most.

I love the sunflowers, as well as the variety of cow images. The set includes a number of cow faces, a laying down cow, flowers, and a milk urn. There's even a tiny cow bell! The shadow box card is not difficult, but it is important to do the steps in the correct order. This card will fold flat to go into a medium envelope, although the layers do add a little extra thickness. You can see my video tutorial here, including tips & measurements for the card.
I love the funny sentiments that coordinate with the cow theme of this set, and also how the stamps can create cute scenes for inside the cards as well. You can see a complete list of the products used to make this card here. and order the supplies to make this card in my online store here. Please use Host Code RNQ MY744 for orders less than $200 placed this month.

Hope you're feeling inspired and ready to create your own Shadow Box Card. If you do, please hop over to my Craftin' Granny's Stamping Friends Group and leave me a photo! I'd love to see your creations.

How to CASE a card

 Hello Craftin' Friends!

How many of you believe that you cannot design a card? When you look for creative inspiration, do you copy cards as shown, and feel that you need to have exactly the materials used to create the card? If so, you will enjoy this week's video tutorial where I CASE one of my own cards to create a very different card.

The first card I created was the Planted Paradise Z Fold card. This card used Moody Mauve, Pretty Peacock, and Pebbled Path as the colour scheme. Gorgeous, right! The patterned paper is from the Softly Stippled DSP, available free with a $60 purchase during Sale-a-bration, while supplies last. Sentiment if from the Sending Smiles Stamp Set. This set provides a great collection of sentiments in a horizontal format.

The CASED version of this card uses the Grassy Grove Stamp Set. I wanted a masculine card, so I used Crumb Cake, Pecan Pie, and Shaded Spruce for this card. I added some Adhesive Backed Solid gems in Pecan Pie to embellish this card. When I finished, I decided that it still had too much white space, so I added the moon and stars from the Forever Forest Stamp Set in Crumb Cake. When CASing, be flexible and use your "stash" to add interest to your card as needed. DSP is from the Flight and Airy pack, also available free with a $60 purchase during Sale-a-bration, while supplies last.
I hope that this has helped you with how to get started creating cards, piggybacking on the ideas of others. If you'd like to take advantage of the Sale-a-bration offers, please use Host Code RNQMY744 for orders less than $200.

Nature's Sweetness DSP with Thoughtful Expressions Bundle

 Hello Craftin' Friends!

Have you ever been afraid to cut into your Designer Series Paper? I confess that I had a difficult time cutting into my Nature's Sweetness DSP. It's lovely, and shiny, and seemed to require a special project to warrant cutting into the new pack of paper! Well, when I was planning for my Facebook LIVE this past week, I came across the Triple Accordian Fold Card. That was it!

I chose to use the Stylish Shapes square dies for my card. I immediately pictures them in diamond direction, and thought they worked well for this fun fold card. I added two stamped images and a heat embossed sentiment to the first die cut on the card front.
On the second die cut, I stamped the larger floral image from the Thoughtful Expressions Stamp Set. I coloured the leaves on all images with Pecan Pie Stampin' Blends, to copy the images on the DSP which showed leaves in colour and flowers in Pebbled Path and white.
Some little flowers on wee square die cut with some Pecan Pie leaves in behind added a final touch to this special card. I intentionally didn't add a second sentiment inside the card, so that I can choose whatever occasion I like when using this card. One tip for you if you decide to make this fun fold. Pay attention to the directionality of your design when you score for your folds. In my video tutorial, I forgot this, and ended up with the opposite side of the DSP showing for my card. It turned out okay, since I had specifically chosen this paper because I like both sides of the DSP and the way they looked together, but it did throw me for a loop!

Doggone Friendly Stamp Set Three Ways

 Hello Craftin' Friends!

Have you ever had the experience where some tasks are just really difficult to get completed? This blog post is one of those, because I had difficulty when recording the video Tuesday night, and I've been fighting illness all week. But I love these cards!

The Doggone Friendly Stamp Set is so fun to use. The doggy faces that cover the stamp are all so cute...and friendly! Their happy faces make me smile every time I use this set.

Now, I know that background stamps are a little different, and you  may not be sure about how to use them. That's why I created these cards and this video tutorial

The first card uses the stamped image cut into panels. I added two mats, then added a sentiment from the Layering Leaves Stamp Set to complete the card. Panel cards are also very effective done with Designer Series Paper Panels.

For the second card, I stamped the dogs, then die cut a section of the large image to create my focal point. I used the Everyday Details Dies and the In Color 2023 -25 Designer Series Paper to decorate my card. The sentiment is from the Darling Details Stamp Set and I cut it out using one of the Stylish Shapes dies.
My third card has a window and the stamped image of the dogs peeks through, The sentiment for this card is from the Charming Sentiments Stamp Set.

Materials used to make these cards are available in my online store. Please use Host Code WRHPHZ9S for orders less than $200. If you try these ides with an alternate background stamp, be sure to share your cards in the comments. I would love to see what you do!

Jungle Pals Good Feelings Cards

 Hey there Craftin' Friends!

Have you placed a Sale-a-bration order yet? I have been having so much fun with the free Jungle Pals Stamp Set and the Jungle Pals Dies. They are so cute. The cards I created this week were CASED from a card made by stampwithleigh.com. I found her card on Pinterest, and wanted to make my own version.

The first card I created used the striped paper from the Delightfully Eclectic DSP as well as a Garden Green/Pretty Peacock DSP from the Fresh as a Daisy DSP. For this cardI used a Pretty Peacock card base, and I die cut the tree from Gray Granite Cardstock. The foilage was die cut from Garden Green and Pretty Peacock Cardstock, and the flowers were die cut from Petal Pink Cardstock. I used Gray Granite, Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lime Twist, Calypso Coral, and Tahitian Tide Stampin' Blends to colour the toucan. The sentiment was stamped in Crushed Curry ink.

Inside the card I used Lemon Lime, Calypso Coral, and Tahitian Tide Stampin' Write markers to colour and stamp the large sentiment.
The second card was a variation of the first. In this card I substituted Garden Green Cardstock embossed with the Fern 3D Embossing Folder for the striped DSP, and Pecan Pie Cardstock for the Gray Granite on the tree. The foliage was die cut with the same colours, but the flowers are Calypso Coral. The toucan was coloured with Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lime Twist, Calypso Coral and Pretty Peacock Stampin' Blends. The sentiment was stamped with Calypso Coral ink to match the flowers. You can see a video tutorial for making this card here
Here you can see the mechanism I used to help the tall portion of the card stand up nicely.
Finally, here's the inside of the second card. This sentiment was stamped using Lemon Lime Twist, Calypso Coral, and Pretty Peacock Stampin' Write markers.
This card was a lot of fun to make, and I can't wait to try more cards using the other "Jungle Pals" in the stamp set. You can earn a free Jungle Pals Stamp Set with your order of $60, a free Jungle Pals Die Set with your order of $120, or both free with a $180 order in my online store. Please use Host Code WRHPHZ9S for orders less than $200.

Doggone Friendly Card

 Hello Craftin' Friends!

I'm so excited about the release of our January to April Mini Catalogue tomorrow January 4th! There are sooo many amazing new stamp sets, die sets, punches, papers, and the list goes on. One product that I knew I had to have because it immediately made me smile, is the Doggone Friendly Stamp Set. This is a background sized stamp set with all kinds of images of happy doggies. When I was using the set I kept grinning at the different doggie faces on the set. Yes, I'm one of those crazy dog lovers!

To make this card, I stamped the images on a piece of Basic White Cardstock, then trimmed the cardstock down to 4 by 5 1/4" to make my card front. I used a Deckled Circle Die to cut out the dogs I wanted to feature, then cut a larger Deckled Circle using Pebbled Path Cardstock to mat the first circle. The card base is also Pebbled Path. I coloured the dogs with my Stampin' Blends (Basic Black, Smoky Slate, Pecan Pie, Flirty Flamingo, and Ivory). The Flirty Flamingo Twine and embellishments are also new products (Baker's Twine Three Color Pack and Rainbow Adhesive Backed Dots). The Smile sentiment is from the Circle Sayings Stamp Set. I used a smaller Deckled Circle cut to show only a portion of the circle below my sentiment.

You can see a complete catalogue walk through here on my YouTube channel. If you would like a catalogue, live in Canada, and don't have a Demonstrator, send me a private message through my Craftin' Granny's Facebook Page with your mailing address and I will be happy to send one to you.

Triple Stair Step Card with Forever Forest Bundle

 Hello Craftin' Friends!

Do you ever have those days when you start to create something and everything seems to go just right? That's how it was with creating this card today. My friend and downline Sue Huffman made me a stunning card for Christmas and I decided to CASE it using the Forever Forest Bundle. The neat thing about this card is that you could switch up the DSP and turn it into a birthday card or anything else really. I went with a Christmas card because I desperately need more of them before the holidays!

Here's a peek at Sue's card.

For my card, I had to figure out how to reproduce the fun fold without using 12 by 12" paper, as I didn't have any in the colour I wanted. To see how to do that, check out my tutorial here

Because Forever Forest has no sentiments, and because I just love a sentiment where the words are the negative part of the stamp, I used the Merry & Bright Stamp Set for two of my sentiments. On the front of the card, I used all of the individual tree dies from the Forever Forest Bundle, and the deer from the Grove Dies.

On the back of the card, I stamped the three largest trees from the Forever Forest Bundle and die cut them. The sentiment is from the Merry & Bright Stamp Set.
Under the flap on the back of the card there's a space for writing. I added trees from the Forever Forest Stamp Set and a sentiment from the Brightest Glow Stamp Set as I don't usually have time to write much on my cards at Christmas time.
The products used to create this card are available in my online store. You can find a complete listing of the products used here
