Adorable Cards with Oh So Ombre DSP

 Hello Craftin' Friends!

I hope the pandemic blues have not hit you too hard. Around our house, everyone seems to be feeling a little less energetic. So this week I decided to create using the Oh So Ombre DSP, available free with a $60 purchase until the end of February or while supplies last. This paper is bright and fun! The perfect antidote to the February blahs. Another neat thing about this paper is that you can switch up the colours of your card to make it more masculine or feminine (see the baby cards done for a boy or a girl).

I chose to use the Kangaroo & Company Bundle for my cards. It's a great choice because the images are super cute, and because it includes a variety of sentiments so you can make cards for a bunch of occasions. You will need some sort of colouring tools to work with this bundle. I've used Stampin' Blends, but our Watercolor Pencils would work too. Even though I loved using the Kangaroo & Company Bundle for these cards, I absolutely think that you could switch up the stamp set for a different style of card using the same DSP and card designs. What do you think?

The first card today I designed as a Valentine's Day card. It has two flaps that open in either direction. See the video tutorial for how to make this card fold. I saw a card like this on Pinterest using snowmen, but forgot to pin it, and can't recall whose card it was. My apologies. In addition to the Kangaroo & Company Bundle, I also used the Stitched Rectangle Dies for this card.

I decorated inside the first flap...

and inside the second flap. During the video tutorial, I switched up the sentiment inside to It's your day, which makes the card a little more versatile as it could work for another occasion.

The second card for today is the baby card (shown in the video linked above in both colour schemes). This is a super fun fold card that is relatively quick to make and very visually appealing. I added an oval from the Stitched Shapes Dies to this card.

Of course, for a baby card, you have to include the mama and baby kangaroos!

The next card I made was probably the most time consuming because of all the colouring. I stamped the flowers from the stamp set in the centre of the circle with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then stamped the same image around the edge of the circle, turning to appear random. These flowers were all coloured with Stampin' Blends, then I stamped another flower image and die cut it to pop up in the centre of the circle. The scalloped circles are from the Layering Circles Dies.

Lots of layering to make this card, and although it doesn't show too well in the photo, the plain Ombre DSP was embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.

Inside this Thank You card I added the mama kangaroo with a bouquet of flowers coloured to co-ordinate with the front of the card. So sweet!

The final card I'm sharing today is a birthday card, and as I mentioned earlier, you could switch up the colours of DSP and cardstock if you love the rose shades of paper. I love the little birthday hat, and the butterfly, and the presents...

Inside this card I used Stitched Rectangles again to allow a space for writing a personal greeting, and for the sentiment, which I borrowed from the Approaching Perfection Stamp Set. The cardstock inside the card is embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D folder.

This is a buckle fold card, and the front flap tucks in behind the Stitched Rectangle on the front of the card. To make the hole for the "buckle", I die cut 2 of the envelope die, one on top of the other to make the opening large enough for my paper to tuck inside.

If you would like to receive these cards as a kit, place a $60 order in my online store using Host Code 3BGBVFSZ before February 11th, and send me a private message on Facebook with you address. Kits will include pre-cut cardstock, DSP, and written instructions (by email), but no stamped images.

Why not include the Kangaroo & Company Bundle as part of a starter kit? If you live in Canada, I would love to have you join my Granny's Craftin' Cannucks Team and help you get started on your own Stampin' Up journey today. It's a great opportunity to meet new people, learn some new skills, and share this wonderful hobby of papercrafting with others along the way. You can reach out to me on my Craftin' Granny's Facebook Page for more information.

If you liked the cards today, I would be thrilled if you subscribed using the button at the side of the blog page. And I do hope you'll join me next Thursday evening for my Facebook Live at 6 pm. EST.

Happy Crafting!

Craftin' Granny
