Angels of Peace Christmas Cards

 Hello Craftin' Friends.

Have you started making Christmas cards yet? I know if I don't get mine created early, then I won't get them sent out. So today I'm sharing three cards featuring the sweetest little angel from the Angels of Peace Stamp Set. I admit, I bought this set because I love this stamp so much.

The first card is an extra special fun fold called a Double Easel Card. In keeping with the special design of this card I heat embossed the angel and sentiments in gold. The first photo shows the card from an angle so that you can see how the card is assembled. There is a Basic White Thick card base, then the Cherry Cobbler easel portion is folded like a Z fold card, but positioned vertically.

The angel is embossed in gold, then coloured with Shaded Spruce (light or dark for the holly), Cherry Cobbler Dark (for the flowers and berries), and Crumb Cake Dark and Soft Suede Light (for her hair) Stampin' Blends.
The back of the card has a sentiment and stars all heat embossed in gold.
The inside of the card has a Cherry Cobbler mat and then a Basic White panel with a gold embossed sentiment. This area gives you lots of space to write a message. Cool fun fold, right?
Measurements:
  • Basic White Thick Cardstock card base 4 1/4" by 11", scored at 5 1/2"
  • Cherry Cobbler Cardstock - easel portion 4" by 10 1/2", scored at 2 5/8" and 5 1/4"; mat for inside 4" by 5 1/4"; large die cut from Seasonal Labels dies
  • Basic White Cardstock 2 pieces cut to 3 3/4" by 5"; one piece cut to 2 3/8" by 3 3/4" embossed with the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder; Medium Sized die cut from Seasonal Labels dies
  • Cherry Cobbler and Gold Ribbon about 8"

In keeping with my traditional Christmas colour scheme, I chose the Cherry Cobbler patterned paper from the Sweet Stockings DSP for the next card.

In this card, my little angel is coloured with Shaded Spruce, Cherry Cobbler, Ivory, and Crumb Cake. The sentiments for this card came from the For Unto Us Stamp Set. I was so pleased with how the two stamp sets worked so well together.

Inside the card I added an extra mat layer and an extra sentiment.

Measurements:
  • Basic White Thick Cardstock 5 1/2" by 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
  • Basic White Cardstock 3 7/8" by 5 1/8", Stitched Rectangle 2 5/8" by 4", 5/8" strip for sentiment
  • Cherry Cobbler Cardstock 4" by 5 1/4", 2 7/8" by 4 1/4", 3/4" strip to mat sentiment
  • Diagonal pattern DSP 4" by 5 1/4"
  • Stitched Pattern DSP 2" by 5 1/4"
The second card didn't use and DSP, but I added interest by using embossing folders. The white layer was embossed using the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder which I thought worked wonderfully with my little angel. I also used the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder for one Shaded Spruce layer. If you don't have this embossing folder yet you really need it! My angel was minimally coloured with Shaded Spruce and Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends. The rhinestones are from the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels. I really love our Stampin' Up! Jewels, and I'm so pleased we have so many colour options this year.

Inside this card I added some snowflakes/stars (you can decide which they are!), a part of my favourite angel, and another sweet sentiment.

Measurements:
  • Shaded Spruce Cardstock 5 1/2" by 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4", 2" by 5 1/4" embossed with Tasteful Textile 3D EF, 2 1/4" by 3 1/4"
  • Basic White Cardstock 4" by 5 1/4" embossed with Merry Melody 3D EF, 4" by 5 1/4", 2" by 3", a scrap for die cutting the sentiment with the second smallest shape from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies
  • Cherry Cobbler Cardstock strip 1/4 or 3/8" wide by 5 1/4"
