Hello crafters - it's Katie Pulham here to share my bookmark creations with you! I made these watercolour bookmarks using Stampin' Up's Painted Poppies stamp set (151599) and my favourite watercolour technique.
First, stamp on your watercolour paper with Memento ink (132708). Wait for it to dry completely before colouring or you will likely smudge your stamp's image.
Next, I like to use my Classic Stampin Inkpads and water painters (151298) to add colour; I used Real Red (147084), Pool Party (147107), and Mossy Meadow (147111). Squeeze your inkpad while it's closed to transfer ink to the lid, and then use the lid as a palette while colouring.
Once my watercolour dried, I glued them on bases of Cherry Cobbler (119685) and Basic Black (121045) cardstock. I chose not to add much embellishment because I did not want to add anything that could potentially damage the books you were using the bookmarks in, but I did use some dimensionals (104430) and the black and white trim from the Playful Pets combo pack (152466).
Aren't they super simple and pretty? Watercolour with Stampin' Up's water painters is currently my favourite way to colour stamped images on cards and other papercrafts - I definitely recommend giving it a try. I hope you find these bookmarks a creative inspiration for you this week!
Until next time,
Happy crafting!
