Poinsettia Petals Christmas Cards

 Hello Craftin' Friends!

Today I'm excited to show you the swap card I made to share with my team at OnStage. We decided to swap Christmas Cards, and I decided to play with the Poinsettia Petals Stamp Set and Poinsettia Dies, since they are new to me. When the bundle came out last year, I loved the cards with white poinsettias, so that's what I used for my card. Once I had decided to go with the white flower, I wanted some DSP to work with it, so I went with some Peaceful Place DSP that had silver in it. My stamping was done in Memento Tuxedo Black and Smoky Slate. You can see I used some of the Silver Foil from the Mini Catalogue as an accent, as well as the Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon from the Annual Catalogue.

For inside my card, I stamped a second sentiment, then added some branches from the stamp set in Smoky Slate stamped off once.

The final touch for this card was to stamp a flower in Smoky Slate over the envelope flap. No naked envelopes!

Measurements:
  • Basic White Thick Cardstock 5 1/2" by 8 1/2"
  • Basic White Cardstock 2 pieces 4" by 5 1/4", plus enough pieces to die cut four poinsettia flowers and three holly leaves
  • Silver foil (the lightest shade) to cut 2 "berry" branches plus the flower center
  • Pebbled DSP 1 1/4" by 5 1/4"
  • Black glittered organdy ribbon about 6 1/2"
Now, having done a silver/white card, I though I should do one in red/green. I believe the name of the fun fold is a Joy Fold Card. For this card, I stamped my flowers in Real Red and holly in Mossy Meadow. Then, I coloured them with Real Red and Old Olive Stampin' Blends. The patterned paper is from the Heartwarming Hugs DSP. To add some texture inside the card, I used the Brick and Mortar 3D Embossing Folder.
Inside the card I added more DSP and a second sentiment. This traditional Christmas Card has a little country flavour with the plaid DSP.
Measurements:
  • Real Red Cardstock 7 1/4" by 5 1/2", 3" by 6", 1" by 1 3/4"
  • Basic White Cardstock 4" by 5 1/4", 2 pieces 2 3/4" square, 3/4" by 1 1/2", plus enough to stamp and die cut 2 pieces of holly (small) and 2 poinsettia flowers (small and medium)
  • Plaid pattern DSP 2 pieces 2 1/2" by 5 1/4", 1 piece 2 3/4" square
