Hello Crafters!
Here in southern Ontario we're really hoping for spring to arrive, but the weather is still chilly and the weather forecasters keep threatening us with snow! Still, I did see a sign of spring on my walk yesterday. I find the early flowers to be uplifting as we wait for spring to arrive in earnest. I've also seen many robins on my walks, so warmer weather can't be far behind!
There's a video tutorial of the birthday card I'm sharing today, but I'm also including measurements below, so that you can see them all at once without having to watch the tutorial if you prefer. This fun fold card is made with a full sheet of cardstock cut in an L. I used each of the animals from the Wildlife Wonder Stamp Set in the card, and I do find that a set with multiple sentiments that work together, as well as multiple images, works best for this fun fold. I made this card twice, using linen thread for a bow on one card, and some Coastal Cabana rhinestones from the Holiday Rhinestones pack on the second. Which one do you like the best?
I do love the dsp for this card. I've used two patterns from the Artfully Composed DSP.
When you open the front flap of the card, you see the second layer, with the beautifully detailed bear. All of the images in this set are gorgeously detailed without colouring. Of course, you can always add a little extra detail with Stampin' Blends or Watercolor Pencils if you have the time. When you lift the next layer you see the inside of the card. This view shows the card fully opened.Measurements:- Pear Pizzazz cardstock 8 1/2 by 11", with 1/4 cut out.
- Evening Evergreen 4" by 5 1/4"; 1 7/8" by 3 7/8", 3/4" by 3 1/8"
- Basic White carddstock 4" by 5 1/4"; 3" by4", 5/8" by 3"; and a piece large enough to die cut the stitched rectangle about 1 5/8" by 3 5/8" or just cut a rectangle with your trimmer
- DSP for card front 3 7/8" by 5 1/8"; DSP for second layer 1"by 4" - cut 2
